Talkin’

Tuesday, October 18th, 2005

Here I am telling my sweet thingsSo, they finally let me at the computer again. (I mean, if I can blog from the womb, why not the crib? There’s none of that sticky fluid or anything anymore, and I’ve been promising not to spit up on the computer. But they wised up. After all, they weren’t getting much posted here. I’ve got time and things to say, too.)
Here you can see me telling my mom how much I appreciate her taking care of me, and feeding me every two hours, and getting up at night to change my diaper. I don’t think she understood me precisely, but it seemed to make her happy anyway.

Jane in a Big Girl Bed

Jane in a big girl bedAs you can see, Jane moved to a big girl bed tonight. She was quite excited about it. We had been talking to her about moving to the bed for the past few weeks, and last night she asked to sleep in it. We didn’t have the waterproof mattress cover on yet, so Rebecca said no. Later, we decided that tonight would be a good night. Today, Jane asked to sleep in the big bed for her nap, and threw a little fit when she couldn’t.
Jane not sleeping in her big girl bedWhen the time came to put her to bed, we all went in her room (Ron too!) and she ran and jumped on the wrong bed. We have two twin beds in the room, and she wanted to sleep on the one by the windows (I think because it had a bunch of little pillows). Disappointment came quickly when she was told to sleep in the other bed. A pillow transfer and a hug and she was much happier (see the top picture)
Much later, I went in to try to take some pictures of her sleeping in her bed. Unfortunately, she was not deeply asleep, so I have pictures of her awake in bed in the relative dark. (the bottom photo).

Stickered and Stuck

Ron Reprises Getting StuckSorry about the light posting lately. Jane had a run in with an end table (the table won, but she’s mostly recovered and fortunately didn’t have to go to the doctor) and we’ve been rather busy lately. Grandparents have visited, Jane had crazy hair day at school

Jane StickeredToday, we all got stickered and stuck. Ron had his two month appointment today (12 lbs 12 oz! and I don’t remember the length), and he had the misfortune of having four shots today. He was not happy about it, but he did calm down quickly, and didn’t spit up at the nurse or anything afterwards. (Above you can see him re-enact his experience at the doctors office.) Not only did Ron get shots, but Rebecca and I received shots. Since Ron is too young for the flu shot, everyone else gets one. Jane wasn’t there, so she missed out.
Instead, tonight she got stickered. I had some leftover labels from work and I decorated her with them. She enjoyed them for a while, and had a great time playing. After a while, it seems they started bothering her, so I helped her take them off. I started to throw them away, but was immediately informed that they were still good for playing.
