Jane’s Texas Program

Jane Program Jan 2006 5878Jane Program Jan 2006 5894 Jane had her third school program.  She has always been unconcerned about being on stage.  I don’t think she can see the audience very well, and almost seemed bored during this one (she was on stage for 15 minutes or so).  I think she saw me moving around taking pictures.

If we’re lucky, I’ll have a short clip of the interesting bits up later.  Of course, interesting might be relative, as in only relatives would find it interesting. :-)

Testing the photo posting thing…

NightVisitorThis guy came by at night and was tormenting the dogs that live behind us. Tormenting them in that he didn’t react in the slightest. In fact the only reaction he made to me was to turn his head and look at me.

Haven’t seen him since, but I think he’s the one that’s been setting off our motion sensor light out back.

Upgrade Complete

I think I’ve got everything working again – don’t have quite all the old text back in place, but the essential features are in place, I think.

WordPress 2.0 is much slicker looking from the admin side, but it’ll take a bit to figure out all the new stuff.

Jane is Driving Already!

Thankful

Wednesday, January 25th, 2006

This morning I was cleaning and disinfecting our downstairs bathroom; a job that had to be done due to the illness Jane has been suffering. Needless to say it wasn’t the most pleasant of tasks. As usual Jane came in to see what I was up to.

“What you doing, Mommy?”

“Cleaning the sink and the toilet.”

“Thank you, Mommy.”

That simple, unprompted thank you from my darling girl has made my day.

New Ron Gallery

Tuesday, January 24th, 2006

I realized the other day that I didn’t have any recent Ron pics, so on Saturday, Rebecca and I took almost 200. The gallery doesn’t have quite that many, but just the ones we wanted to share.

New Ron Gallery Here.

Next project – update the site header image.

Alligators

Sunday, January 22nd, 2006

“I need more alligators” came the plaintive whine.

At least that’s what we eventually understood. It took a while to figure out exactly what she was saying.

“I need more alligators right now.”

Of course just understanding what she said didn’t mean we were any closer to figure out what she meant.

“I need more alligators!”

A glimmer: I had been giving her watered down Gatorade in hopes of helping her rehydrate and recover.

“Would you like some more Gatorade?”

“Want more alligators.”

Ah. Gatorade == Alligators.

Ya just never know what she’ll say next. (She is feeling better this morning than last night – she’s actually been playing with her toys today).

Blech

Stomach bugs are no fun, either for the little girl with them, or for the parents who have to clean up after it, at both ends. On the positive side, I have a new “Most Disgusting Smell Ever”.

Hmm.

Yeah, it isn’t fun here.

Ron and the Saucer

Wednesday, January 18th, 2006

Ron in the SaucerHere’s an old picture of Ron (who is 5 months now! He’s growing so fast!) hanging out in his saucer. He likes being upright, and has really developed his grabbing skills. In fact, it is quite difficult to hold him and something you don’t want him to hold, because he grabs it. He is doing a good job of holding himself upright when I hold his legs for him.
He has definately reached the interactive stage, and loves to make eye contact with people. I have to say, I quite enjoy his reactions when I get home – a big smile and big excited waving of all his limbs when I come say hi.

“Play Tea Set!”

Wednesday, January 18th, 2006

Jane and her tea set The favorate toy these days is the tea set. Lucky adults present will be invited to come play tea set with Jane. She sets the table – very fancily, I might add, complete with table cloth, cups *and* saucers – and then gets someone to come sit with her. She makes tea and pours it into (or at least into the general area of) your cup. All you do is sit back and enjoy the show, and occasionally enjoy the “tea”.
BTW, it isn’t “Mint Tea”, it’s just “tea”.

CMU Supporters!

CMU
Our darlings had a CMU filled Christmas thanks to Aunt Christa and Uncle Nathan. Jane and Ron are growing so fast, I knew I needed to get a picture before they outgrew their new sweatshirts. It was a bit challenging to get Jane to be still for the photo. Two-year-olds have lots of energy!
