Batteries Not Included

Saturday, May 27th, 2006

Our little girl is learning about how things work, but sometimes gives too much to technology.

We were sitting around talking the other night, Rebecca and I having a conversation, with occaisional additions/interruptions/asides from Jane. She was sitting in her rocking chair from her Great Aunts Verne and Bernice. Rebecca said, “That chair doesn’t rock very well, does it Jane?”

“No, it doesn’t. It needs new batteries.”

Grandpapa Byron Is Here

Tuesday, May 23rd, 2006

Jane and ByronAnd having a great time with the kids.  Jane is loving it: he brought toys for her to play with – and she is having a great time, blowing bubbles and playing with her new (garage sale) doll house.  Ron is having a good time too, but I don’t have any pictures of him with Grandpapa.

Baby Dedication

BabyDedication 8133We dedicated ourselves to raise Ron in the Lord on Mother’s Day. A nice ceremony with 3 other families at our church. The pastor prayed for each child individually and the church body promised to help us raise him well. This was a change from Jane’s dedication, when she was the only baby! (Plus there are two other babies at our church not dedicated for various reasons).

A Big Bathtub

We had some friends over tonight, so we set up a wading pool for the kiddos. Rebecca brought our kids out, and they were quite excited. Jane said, “Look at the big bathtub!” Ron grunted and waved his arms, which is pretty active for him.

PoolJaneKick 7895Jane splashed around some by herself, waiting on our friends to come. The water was a little cold, but she insisted she wasn’t cold. But when she told me, “Look at my mouth, Daddy!”, and her teeth were chattering, I determined it was time to get out.
