Walker, Ronald Arthur (with video?)

Monday, July 31st, 2006

Tonight we took some video of Ron walking, and Jane being thrilled about the camera. Actually, both kids were trying to get to the camera. Camera shy? Not my kids!

We’ll try this for now – if you have iTunes, it will work (if you don’t see it in iTunes, you have to click on the name “ronsteps” to see the video instead of just hearing the (somewhat annoying) audio). Click Here for iPod sized video

I’ll try to resize to work with just Quicktime later (video machine is cranking on a video for church right now).

The video is after the jump and on the Ron Walking page. (Click more to see the rest of the post)

Janeisms

From the mouth of Jane:

“I like laughing at the moon”

“Watch this!” [most often said when on the phone]

Walker, Ronald Arthur

The big news from yesterday is that Ron took his first steps! He went about 4 steps from his mom to me! We were quite excited and very proud of him. I was grateful he waited until he returned from Colorado so I could be there. From what I hear, he continues to practice and improve his skills. Watch out world, here comes Ron!

New Shoes

Saturday, July 15th, 2006

Ron loves to get up on his feet and ‘walk’ by pushing anything that will move on our carpet. He pushes his toy 4-wheeler, Jane’s babydoll stroller, boxes, landry baskets, and even his high chair with great glee. Of course his favorite is when Daddy takes him by the hands and walks him all over the house. In the hopes of aiding his walking efforts, I bought him some new sandals when shopping in Target the other day. The first time I put them on him, he wasn’t too sure what to think of them and managed to get one of them off within about a minute. Later that evening Daddy put them on him and then walked him all around the living room. He smiled and laughed with delight at this favorite activity. However, it wan’t clear what he thought about the new shoes. When they finished their walking game, Ron sat down and managed to get one of the sandals off. Since it was close to Ron’s bedtime, Daddy took the other sandal off as well. As soon as the shoe came off Ron started crying, so Phil handed him the shoe. Our extra cute son then attempted to get that sandal back on his foot. It was pretty funny to watch. I guess Ron does like his new shoes!
